Summary

The Girl from Everywhere is a time-traveling adventure featuring Nix Song, a teenage girl who sails across centuries aboard her father’s ship, The Temptation. Using specially drawn maps, the ship can travel anywhere—both real and mythical. Nix has spent her life voyaging to different places and times, but her father, obsessed with finding a map that will return them to Honolulu in 1868, risks altering history—including the circumstances of Nix’s own birth. As Nix wrestles with her father’s obsession, she must decide whether to help him rewrite the past or take control of her own future.

Reviews

“A captivating mix of adventure, romance, and historical intrigue, with a fresh take on time travel. Heilig’s worldbuilding is masterful, creating a universe where maps are more than just navigation tools—they are keys to different realities.”

“Nix is a compelling protagonist, torn between her loyalty to her father and her own desire for independence. The novel explores themes of fate, free will, and the consequences of altering history, making it both thought-provoking and thrilling.”

“From 19th-century Hawaii to mythical lands, the settings are beautifully described, immersing readers in a world where magic and reality seamlessly blend. The emotional depth of the father-daughter relationship adds another layer to this engaging fantasy.”
