About Author

Michael Amherst is a British writer whose works have appeared in esteemed publications such as The Guardian, New Statesman, The Spectator, and The White Review. His book-length essay, Go the Way Your Blood Beats, won the 2019 Stonewall Nonfiction Prize. Amherst has also been honored with the 2020 Hubert Butler Essay Prize and was shortlisted for the Observer/Anthony Burgess Prize for Arts Journalism. The Boyhood of Cain is his debut novel.
