Set in London during the Second World War, The Air Raid Book Club follows Gertie Bingham, a recently widowed bookshop owner who finds solace in literature and a surprise friendship with a young German Jewish girl, Hedy. As bombs fall and lives are torn apart, they find strength in each other and in the books they share through a small community book club.
