Sub genres for the boxes could be nice, I only really read YA sci-fi and fantasy, or light contemporary. I found most of the boxes bit daunting with the book topics, escaping reality is a must for me

The box arrived very quickly and all of the books that came in it sounds very interesting. I’m looking forward to start reading them. I know that you ask what genres subscribers prefer not to receive, but I think it would be nice to have one that notes genres they would prefer too, especially for the surprise and Young Adults boxes. Other than that, as someone who had been wanting to get new books but not knowing what to go for, this is a great service.

I initially subscribed in the hope that they may be suitable for my almost 8 year old but they aren’t. However I read the close your eyes in the first day and couldn’t put it down. A subscription for a younger child would be great. I’d probably subscribe to 2 boxes then.

The first thing I did after opening the box was smell the books-love the smell of books- then looked at what I had received. I was a bit unsure at first as I wouldn’t have chosen somebody of these but once I began reading them I enjoyed them so much I read one in less than 24 hours. I’m really glad I subscribed to this as I will get to read books I wouldn’t necessarily have chosen, I’m really looking forward to the next box.

I found the books in this box were mostly geared towards the younger scale as opposed to young adult scale. It's more Y7 and Y8 pupils I would recommend these to, than my 14-16 year olds, let alone sixth formers. I liked the diversity of the topics and would be very very excited to see diverse writers - especially "BAME" and other minority voices. Looking forward to the next one.

I think the mission of A Box of Stories is amazing, I hate the idea of books going to waste. But sadly I do already own one of the books sent in the most recent box. Maybe it is possible to expand the use of Goodreads to include to be read books (TBR) and/or did not finish books (DNF) for example.

I have read all genres before so I am excited to read them all! Although I would probably pick up a contemporary, I am looking forward to reading the other genres as I have read these genres before (just not as much as contemporary). I have to be in the mood to read those genres but I'm sure I will be over the next few months! I like that although you've included series books, they are the first ones in the series so I can read them and understand them without having to read the ones before. I noticed they are all the same publisher so it might be interesting to receive one by a different publisher.

I love the concept of the box of stories but I’ve realised my taste is more particular to fantasy from than just YA. Sci-fi is not for me, I had a go with an open mind but I felt nothing when ready it. And the others felt too immature.

Many of your books seem to be from the same publisher which is understandable at the beginning. But publishers have ‘styles’ so would be good to get a good variety.
