Summary

Set in an alternate 1975, Mercury Rising envisions a world where President Kennedy survived, Robert Oppenheimer developed the Atomic Engine, and humanity's space exploration advanced rapidly. Brooklyn Lamontagne, the protagonist, leads a modest life aiming to support his mother and avoid trouble. However, his world turns upside down when he's framed for murder by a mysterious assailant wielding a baseball bat and a peculiar box of 8-track tapes. This chain of events propels Brooklyn into a complex web of intrigue involving alien invasions and interplanetary conflicts.
