Summary

Set in the vibrant yet tumultuous city of New Lagos, Little Rot delves into the lives of five interconnected individuals over a single, transformative weekend. The narrative begins with Aima and Kalu, a couple whose four-year relationship has just ended. As Kalu drives Aima to the airport for her flight to London, both are unaware that this separation will set off a chain of events plunging them and their acquaintances into chaos. Kalu, in his anguish, attends a hedonistic party hosted by his friend Ahmed, leading to decisions that entangle them all in a web of corruption, desire, and danger. Through these intertwined stories, Emezi explores themes of societal decay, personal rebirth, and the thin veneer separating the elite from the underworld.
